If you are a fan of Indian writing, this piece of work by Durjoy Datta and Maanvi Ahuja is a never miss. The story has been clearly structured and written perfectly. As it is, the first half of the story moves around the characters Deb (Debashish Roy), Shrey, Vernita, Smriti and Tanmay.
The author has taken every possible effort to make each and every scene of the story realistic. Hats off to his effort!! Undoubtedly the hero of the story Deb faces all problems a youngster of his age would face and that makes it easier for the readers to relate it with their own stories. Even I could relate to it to few of my experiences…
The theme of the story as I understood is ‘If you love something, never let it go easy’. As for the authors , they have made it possible to make the readers understand it in a different approach. Everyone will not get what is suitable for them at the first shot. Similarly Deb did not find the correct person for himself at the first shot, but when he got it, he valued it perfectly.
Avantika, Deb’s dream girl enters his life through his friend Vernita and turns out to be his everything. Avantika too in return realizes that Deb is the rest of her life and equally pours her love towards him. Smriti, Deb’s girlfriend couldn’t be the way he wanted and she fails in her approach of reaching Deb completely. She cannot be blamed for it completely because she came in Deb’s life at the wrong time and she couldnt be upto his expectations. The authors have made us realize how much a girl can influence a boy’s life through the character of Avantika. After her entry, Deb has changed as a person. Vernita’s words during the farewell proved that Deb was the most wanted guy in the college. It should also be mentioned how much challenge Deb gave to Vernita to maintain her relationship with Tanmay.
As his college life reached the final episode, Deb saw all negative things happening to him. This part of the story showed how much pressure a youngster undergoes at this stage of life…Avantika’s exit, Debarred from placements, Parents transfer and Shrey leaving him, everything took a hit in Deb’s life.
Second part of the story totally moves on to a new platform and new people. It should be mentioned here that the authors have completely scripted a new environment for Deb in contrast to the one he saw during his college days filled with government offices, people from low profile backgrounds and loneliness. Deb was forced to be in this situation and although he doesn’t accept it completely he tries to modify it according to his wish. Mr.Goyal was a bonus character for the story who gave some lighting moments to the story.
The new entries to the story-Amit, Aastha and Neeti all played an equally important role in bringing Deb’s life back to normal. The way Deb handled Amit’s relationship with Aastha and how he approached to it was surprising to himself and he saw a different definition for love at that moment. The authors need to be given credit for the way they handled the character Neeti in Deb’s life. It showed Deb’s maturity at that instant.
The re-entry of Avantika and the climax of the story although was a bit expectable, still the authors have taken a lot of effort to make it a sweet ending.
More than just love, this book has expressed the challenges a youngster could face at the ages of 19-23 in an Indian Society. But the theme authors have made it a National Bestseller through the problems they scripted and the way they handled the characters.
All in all ‘OF COURSE I LOVE YOU..!..TILL FIND SOMEONE BETTER’ is not just about love.
OF COURSE I WILL DO IT..!... TILL I FIND SOMETHING BETTER
Great work Guys…
